ACP Block Party + Open Exhibition

For the third year, Atlanta Center for Photography is proud to host our Block Party + Open Exhibition on May 2nd from 12-5 PM. In an effort to highlight the past, present, and future vibrancy of our home on Edgewood Avenue, this event is a single day of art, food, music, and all-ages activities hosted by the Atlanta Center for Photography in collaboration with local businesses and arts organizations. Our partnership is both a celebration of our rich community and a disruption of the cycle of speculation and displacement that challenges its sustainability.

About the Open Exhibition:

Atlanta Center for Photography invites all photographers and lens-based artists to submit work to a sprawling, one-day, open exhibition happening in conjunction with the block party. The ACP Open Exhibition is an open call with all submissions accepted—a nod to photography’s ultra-democratic ethos and an opportunity for anyone with a print to show up and be part of an ACP group show.

Artwork drop-off:

April 24, 25, 28, 29, 12-5 PM

May 2 (Before Block Party Begins)

Artwork pick-up:

May 2 (Right After Block Party Ends)

Artwork Requirements:

Please submit unframed, lens-based work, no larger than 16 x 20”. All work should be able to be hung using sticky tack, painter’s tape, Command strips, or tacks.

We encourage as much variation as possible in color, theme, and presentation. Bring us your photographs, lens-based mixed media, light-based collage—we want it all! Homages to the vibrant culture of Atlanta are particularly encouraged.

Artworks should be dropped off at Atlanta Center for Photography, 546 Edgewood Avenue, on the dates and times listed above. Participation is free, but we suggest a donation of $10 to support our programs. Student or class submissions are free and welcomed.

Postcard-sized artworks can be sent to Atlanta Center for Photography, 546 Edgewood Avenue, Atlanta, GA, 30312 or can be left in our mailbox at any time. Please include your name on the back of your work as you would like it to appear in the gallery, as well as your email address and phone number.
